http://www.ctvnews.ca/lifestyle/die-die-police-responding-to-death-threats-find-out-of-breath-man-chasing-spider-1.2675269

Excerpt:
Police in Sydney, Australia believed they were dealing with a case of domestic abuse when they responded to reports of a woman screaming hysterically and a man yelling death threats earlier this week.

But after they arrived on the scene, all police found was one injured spider and one embarrassed man.

Police said they received a number of calls early Sunday morning over a woman screaming hysterically, a man yelling "I'm going to kill you,” "You're dead," and "Die, die!", along with sounds of furniture being tossed around the home.

Upon knocking on the apartment door, police said an "out-of-breath and rather flushed" man answered the door. The rest of their exchange was documented on the Harbourside LAC – NSW

Police: "Where’s your wife?"
Male: "Umm, I don’t have one."
Police: "Where’s your girlfriend?"
Male: "Umm, I don’t have one."
Police: "We had a report of a domestic, and a woman screaming. Where is she?"
Male: "I don't know what you're talking about. I live alone."
Police: "Come on mate, people clearly heard you yelling you were going to kill her and furniture getting thrown around the unit."

Police said at this point, the man became “very sheepish.”

Police: "Come on mate, what have you done to her."
Male: "It was a spider."
Police: "Sorry?"
Male: "It was a spider, a really big one!"
Police: "What about the woman screaming?"
Male: "Yeah sorry, that was me. I really, really hate spiders."

http://www.livescience.com/41428-huntsman-spider.html

This line in the article...

"The giant huntsman spider, however, has a leg span of up to 12 inches (30 cm), making it the largest spider by diameter; it is often described as being "the size of a dinner plate." Shocked

Haha that's funny!

I had a run in with a huntsman spider, luckily not THAT big!

We were at the campsite at the Grand Canyon. My friend and I had gone into the bathroom block, and as we went to go out there was a huge huntsman on the floor in the doorway! A German girl from our group was also in there with us. We were all discussing what to do next as we'd been told those things could jump 6ft! So understandably we were a bit nervous to step over it. Then a lady came to the doorway, we said be careful of the spider. She looked down at it, shrugged, and raised her booted foot up and stamped on it! It made a huge popping sounds and she just carried on and walked into the bathroom. At the point the three of us felt a bit silly, and just looked at each other and said 'oh that's how it's done!' and walked out lol!!!

Yes it was!

Although one bit of the hike took us VERY close to the edge (too close for my liking) but I had to go first and keep a level head as my friend has a big fear of heights and was freaking out! Was a bit hairy there for a while, but amazing all the same Smile

Solace, I'm sorry if you thought I was irked or something. I really have no idea why you felt you needed to apologize but there's nothing the matter with your posts. So, it's all good Smile

Well, now i am embarrassed... I showed hub the pic and he said that is photo shopped... oops.. i didn't know guys.. Embarassed However, he says there are indeed huge ones... and the article is correct so some do grow to the size of dinner plates. I am actually relieved about the spider on the toilet pic now though... cause that is just crazy... (ok really have to make dinner now, but i had to correct my error) Embarassed

Eugh, just... no, no thank you. Spider and dinner plate should not be in the same sentence, nope!

Ew.
