Explained simply by this amazing man, who moved and lifted massive pillars and who also moved a barn all by himself! If you want to see more please check his website: http://www.theforgottentechnology.com/

Our ancestors were very clever but, above all, had loooots of time and man power to do what they've done..... they never sat at home in front of a computer!! lol

Aggie, were these stones quarried, cut, lifted and moved by hand? If so how much did they weigh? What kind of material were they?

Our largest modern day, heavy-duty cranes are rated from 100 to 300 tons. We have custom cranes that can lift up to 500 tons

Anyone that believes manpower alone could have moved these monstrous blocks of stone using ropes and manpower is living in a fantasy world.

In fact, Lehner set up an experiment to see if it was possible to quarry, move and lift an obelisk weighing one-tenth of what the largest Egyptian obelisks weighed. It was filmed by NOVA and was an utter failure.

The team's master stonemason could not quarry the 35-ton obelisk so a bulldozer was called in. They could not move it, a truck was called in. These failures represent a turning a point in the long-standing debate.

Lehner actually confirmed what a Japanese team funded by Nissan had already learned in 1979, it is not possible to duplicate what the ancients did using primitive tools and methods.

Team Nissan was trying to prove something and they were very confident. But when they could not begin to excavate the blocks of stone they planned on using for their small scale-model of the Great Pyramid with ancient tools they turned to jackhammers.

When they tried to ferry the blocks they quarried across the river on a primitive barge, the stones sank. When a boat got them across the river they discovered that the sledges sank in the sand. They called trucks in to move the blocks to the site.

He's not proving the cutting of the stones, only that one man can move, lift and raise a stone of 10 ton.

It has been proven that in China a 300 ton was moved thanks to winter: it was dragged on a track of ice made by flooding a pathway in winter. They calculated aprox. 100 people were able to slide the stone at aprox. 3 inches per second. It would have taken them about a month to move it from the quarry to the temple. They based the experiment on the local story that said 20000 men dragged the stone in the middle of winter pouring water to make it icy.... but it took a lot less than 20000 men to do it in reality.

Yes if needed, mostly they logged in the winter and used lakes. My dad's friend was a 'sander' during down hills he would poor sand on the rails in order to slow down the sled. We are talking the 1920's.

They would run down the river's in the spring.

In the Mountains, 'flumes' were built, water from a spring was diverted and logs were floated down the mountain side.

I've seen some of the old flumes, parts still standing.

Amazing! The Romans were unbelievable, they had toilets, central heating, hot water to bath..... and then a religion took over and people lost all that for about 1500 years!

And then there is the "Baghdad Battery"...probably not a great power source but could certainly be used for Electro-plating. The assorted Archimedes inventions (screw, death ray, claw) etc all.

Oh yeah, the genious of Archimedes!

We were such a clever intrepid species...... then monotheism was invented and we became fearful, dependent and ignorant..... sad...

Apparently the bigger stones on Baalbek were not moved but cut into smaller pieces before moving them.

And although I  have read how some stones have been moved, some of those blocks are incredibly big!!!

These are single cut stones, pre-history, pre-roman.

The Minoans had running water and flush toilets before the Romans Ags. They were accomplished stonemasons too. As seen at Knossis.

Baalbek is a fascinating place and I suggest that people go and take a look at it.  It clearly shows how ingenious our ancestors were. The Romans built another temple on top of what was a previous one. It took 100 years for the Romans to complete it.

Just wondering VM/Omega. Have you actually seen those sites in Egypt in person? I have.

There are detailed records by the Romans about building the temple at Baalbek and how they moved and places those stones in place. Some of which were 800 Tonnes.

More info Here.

And More Here.

We must be sure that we don't drop into the Logical Fallacy; "I can't do that so my ancestors couldn't either".
