Add Alaska to the glacial melt list
I was reading this here http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/03/31/1373930/-Massive-Glacier-Melt-and-Fresh-Water-are-Pouring-into-the-Gulf-of-Alaska?detail=email
So now you can see the world is affected by our warming which tipped due to the climate change Humans helped tip the balance on.

Yes Len. It's getting very serious now. We are fast approaching the point of no return.

I am thinking we are at the PONR, and sliding past the point of recovery

You could well be right Len. Either way we are in the doo-doo! Or to put it more bluntly-we are, like Fukushima, Fuku'd!

National Geographic report shows the South Pole at 63 degress Fahrenheit!!!
The Antarctic is a weird zone.

Scientists have measured what is likely the highest temperature ever on Antarctica: 63.5 degrees Fahrenheit (17.5 Celsius).
The measurements were made last Tuesday at Argentina's Esperanza Base, on the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula, according to the meteorological website Weather Underground. The previous hottest known temperature on the continent was 62.8°F (17.1°C), recorded at Esperanza Base on April 24, 1961.
The science is particularly complex because the ozone hole continues to affect the region's climate in ways that aren't well understood. And global circulation of winds and currents remains a challenge for scientists to grasp.
"One record warm temperature doesn't cut through all that complexity," says Schmidt. (Learn about the recent cold snap in the U.S.)
When it comes to the whole planet, the Earth remains on track to warm by an average of at least two degrees C (3.6 degrees F) by the end of the century, scientists report, although precisely how much is expected to depend on countries' abilities to reduce emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases.
The Antarctic is a weird zone.

It surely is, populated by strange birds too, not all of them the feathered variety!
The peninsula pokes a long way north as well. The native people used to cross to it for seal hunts. Not a stretch of water I would want to cross in a canoe!

Some brave folks going canoe/kayak, small little boats over the SO. Seen how rough it can be watching the anti-whaling efforts filmed of the Sea Shepherds in "Whale Wars" on Animal Planet

The Strait of Magellan is the wildest stretch of water I have ever been through, even in a big ship!
