Canada's Longest Running Archeo Dig Site
Not an always common thing here... on the prairies I think most people's were nomadic and of course they were spread out over large areas. So finding a good site like these is quite exciting.

I think perhaps it was simply a camp that no one returned to for whatever reason. Doesn't have to be a nefarious thing.

But why would they leave their belongings behind?

If no bones were found of the people, it makes it an odd case

The story does not say they were finding belongings and neither did it say what kind of bone fragments were being found. Remembering of course that it was an encampment for a nomadic people who moved according to season and hunting, we don't know how often they came back to this one place or for how long it was used by the people. Detritus and such builds up, if it was used by generations of people there would be a lot of things to find there.

Looked further into it, seems the area was perfect for preserving biological artifacts, as well as the rest they have been finding. The people then were hunting and processing the buffalo so they had it pretty good.

Of course it seems they have to keep the place safe as the suburbs are sprawling, kind of like American suburbs
