Fire At Black Church In South Carolina Is Latest In String Of Blazes At Places Of Worship

A fire broke out at a prominent black church in South Carolina on Tuesday night, the latest in a series of blazes at places of worship in the South serving the African-American community.

It is the seventh prominent African-American church in the South to have been burned down since a gunman killed nine people at the historic black church Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal in Charleston two weeks ago.

Anything can crack at the moment Tim, everything going so fast. For the third night I am hearing gun shots in Margate FL. The only place I can remember hearing this was in New York, some ten years ago. Some people are beginning to be afraid to go to church.

For too long these thing have been kept under cover, the time has finally come where truths have to surface. I think black people have to take their own destiny in their own hands and decide what is good from them. It is sad we have to kill each other because killing cannot solve the problem, however it is difficult for some to understand that.

The perpetrators are upset over the decisions to remove Confederate flags from state flags/hanging over state houses, and off license plates. Odd we beat the Nazis, and no German is legally allowed to fly a Swastika flag, yet for decades we let the Southern Bigots fly their version of the Nazi flag publicly and state endorsed. That never should have been allowed, they should have been utterly removed, and then a 19th century Marshall plan should have fixed the South back up to modern standards for the time period. People hung onto the symbol of the "Stars and bars" as a "The South shall rise again" meaning a return to their antebellum overlord ship and slavery and other nonsense that is a thing of the past. where it should stay dead and buried, not resurrected.

Truth is Len, people always return to what they perceived as the good old days which does not mean for every body. Slavery was good fro the majority of white people, I can imagine now that things are not the same, they would want to go back to when they were doing better, even if it means putting more human beings under the demeaning burden of slavery again. As you know some people are satisfied just thinking they are better than others. There was an unjust war fought in the name of greed, I am not at all surprised that there is a price to pay, the question is who is willing to pay. Removing the flag is a part of paying the price. Killing those people in the church was a part of the price to pay.

The past is a part of the present, both are included in the moment, and the moment is always with us. Things fall apart, as things come together.
