Genesis is full of nonsense! I argued this with somebody who said Genesis explains big bang to the smallest detail, when it's not like that. In genesis Earth is created before the universe, then you get plants and grass without sun, and two days later you get the sun... the mistaken explanation of people who lived 2000 years ago.

The Bible is a book of made up stories, nothing else.

No argument from me there Ags. The bible is a vicious, nasty novel with no redeeming features at all. Yet people use it to justify the actions of some like Roof and his rampage in the Church in the US.

It is, and was going to be impossible for one book to explain something we will never be able as humans to under, or over-stand. We do not have the capacity to comprehend even the smallest tittle of universal knowledge, except our own perception of who we are.
The words of the bible may be right but we cannot understand someone else's interpretation of the making of the universe.

I do find it so strange that any Iron Age religion has survived this long and is clung to so fiercely. Age doesn't always mean better or wiser. Sometimes it means stuck in a rut or just plain stubborn for stubborness' sake. "But we've always done it this way!".
