Re: For and against "Basic Income"...
"Basic" Income to truly work would need to be less what the Milton Friedmans of the world would like it to be (Less than my disability per month), and more than enough to live off of alone so say 2500-3k per month. And that still comes to less than the average middle income mean of 50k a yr. more around 30-36k per year. But I am trying to live off just over 13k per year.

Tim.
Sadly this will not be doable while my country is under the grip of being the Corporate States of Oligarchia where they will not cut military spending, nailing tax avoiders, taxing the wealthy, they will not reduce the tax on the middle class, etc., My country is insane and stupid at the same time.
All of this:
Collecting from Corporate Tax Avoiders
Collecting from Individual Tax Avoiders
A Financial Speculation Tax
Military Cuts
A Progressive Income Tax
The Reduction of Regressive Taxes
A Wealth Tax
A Carbon Tax
A Land Tax
Patent Reform
A Share of the Research Benefits
Safety Net Savings
Is not possible with the Idiots we have in charge now, and the corporatocracy in the drivers' seat.

That's true enough Len. We have the same as well.
Something needs to be done because as technology advances more people are left behind and if they don't get a "piece of the action" there will be a revolution.

And while they hold off the peaceful revolution, I fear that the not pleasant kind will hit and that will be a tragedy.
