Capital Cities is an American indie pop duo from Los Angeles, California, formed by Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. Their debut EP was released on June 7, 2011, with lead single "Safe and Sound". It was released in the UK in late September 2013.

A subsequent single, "Kangaroo Court", was released on May 1, 2012.[5] The band was featured on the Pop Up #1 compilation curated by Perez Hilton that was released on August 7, 2012.[6] The band's song "Safe and Sound" charted at #1 on the US Alternative Songs chart.[7]

Chvrches (pronounced as "churches", sometimes stylised as CHVRCHES or CHVRCHΞS) are a Scottish electronic band, formed in 2011. The group consists of Lauren Mayberry (lead vocals, additional synthesisers, and samplers), Iain Cook (synthesisers, guitar, bass, vocals), and Martin Doherty (synthesisers, samplers, vocals).[1]

Chvrches came fifth on the BBC's Sound of 2013 list of the most promising new music talent.[2] In March 2013, they released Recover EP. Their debut studio album The Bones of What You Believe was released on 20 September 2013.
