It does snow in Australia, just not normal in tropical Queensland.

I have seen that on the news, the suffering is real! That's painful heat, and no relief
The weather here has been extreme as well, we had a lot of lingering heat and so many damaging thunder and hail storms. There was a tornado at a town about an hour north of us yesterday.

Yep, today the UK temperature record for July has been broken - 38C in Cambridge, apparently, and even that could get beaten as the data from across the country hasn’t finished coming in yet.
42.6C in Paris, OMG!
Where I am it’s substantially cooler, 22C. Weird to think it’s so much hotter only a few hundred miles away!

Re: Extremes
Glasgow has been very hot (at least for Glasgow), we reached 28 C this afternoon (but no wind and the 'feels like' temp was 30C)..... I have lived in 40+ temps and I feel sorry for people in France.

Re: Extremes
Hi all. I have seen how Europe has been getting heat blasted, and Australia is having weird weather patterns, all thank to global climate changes. Oh and wildfires all over the globe.

Re: Extremes
Hi Lenz!
In Scotland the weather has been very strange this year: a very cold spring and early summer, then it suddenly warmed up and we got a very warm and extremely humid July, and the last few weeks it's been much cooler again - but one constant has been the huge amount of rain we've been getting, which has been really high - something like 200% of the usual annual total already in 2019, I think.
It definitely suggests climate change.

A research base in Antarctica has recorded its hottest day on record on the continent, logging a temperature of 18.3 degrees Celsius

Re: Extremes
Wow!! I remember reading in a school textbook when I was a kid that the record warmest temperature recorded in Antarctica was 12C. It’s now getting warmer in places than Scotland in summer!! History is being rewritten!
Very moving article...!

Re: Extremes
With the Biosphere becoming erratic, I think my decision to not breed was a good one. My adopted father always used to beg me about Grandkids, but I can barely take care of myself, (especially on disability monthly payments), and even if they had grown up, my own grandkids would be looking at so uncertain a future.
My one brother and sister have spawned out grandkids already so he stopped bugging me, and he is aware of my finances and health issues.
Yes, I know that the world is never certain due to war, illnesses, and other factors, but a possible crashing life support system makes it even less certain.
I hope for the sake of those who will have to live with the world we hand over will have a future, but I also wonder if they will be able to forgive the ones who chose resource grabbing, and profits over life who have come before them and did this to this gem of a world.
I wonder, other memories of worlds that went down, am I here to observe the fall of this one too?
