A vast cloud of Sahara dust is blanketing the Caribbean as it heads to the US with a size and concentration that experts say hasn’t been seen in half a century.

Wow!! That dust storm is massive and really thick! I was reading that it's usually a couple of miles thick, but this one stretches 1500 miles across the Atlantic!!

Looking at the pictures I feel sorry for people with breathing problems.

Wow... That is bonkers!! And stretching right across the Atlantic too! Amazing!!!

I know Sahara dust and hot air can massively influence the climate and air quality in Europe too at this time of year, depending which way the wind is blowing. But this looks totally unprecedented to me.

Hope people on these islands are managing to stay safe from it!
