Good news specially for people with type 1 diabetes, type 2 is completely different (almost the opposite) and this cure might simply temporarily conceal the symptoms and hide the problem like sweeping dust under the rug.

Excellent news! I really hope they can mirror the mice results on people! It would be great to have  a cure for such terrible disease.... did you know that back in time it was called 'sweet urine' or 'honey urine'? (due to it's particular smell and sweetness...yes, they use to taste it lol).

And for those who want to know, Diabetes type 2 is not the opposite: in type 1 the immune system attacks Beta cells so the body cannot produce insulin. Type 2 means the body doesn't make enough insulin or the insulin is faulty (usually due to poor lifestyle but also post viral infections such as Covid19).

Yep, because for many with Diabetes type 2 the pancreas stops producing insulin.... I love scientists! I really want to marry one... I think intelligence is sexy as hell! lol

This could be an incorrect assumption, sadly, on the contrary, if the body produces too much insulin over years this could make cells RESISTANT if that were the case theres nothing faulty about insulin but with insulin receptors in cells that have been hammered by insulin for years or in a sense cells have too much sugar already, thus producing more insulin with medication or injecting insulin or stem cell in pancreas producing insulin would not help, it would be like having an elevator filled with people and deciding to push harder and harder into more and more people and wondering why its difficult

Also, type 2 seems to follow on the coat tails of other diseases that cause folks to lack the ability to exercise as they once may have been able to do. With all I have (laundry list) the type 2 was the last thing to hit me, until 2014-15 I was w/o diabetes.

Insulin resistance is PRE-diabetes. It is NOT diabetes.

You are right, insulin resistance means there is too much glucose, the cell is full, the pancreas is working like mad to pump more and more insulin to solve the problem, but it's too much. Over time this makes the pancreas fail: it either stops producing insulin or it produces insulin that is faulty and unable to unlock cells to move glucose. This is when insulin resistance becomes Diabetes type 2.

Insulin resistance and most cases of Diabetes 2 are reversible with a good diet. 

I love Dr Fung! I bought his book last year and it made me a big fan of intermittent fasting. Because I am of the 'snacking every 3 hours' generation, I struggled with fasting. It took me months but I finally do the 16:8 fasting on a daily basis and I have never felt better. I do eat low carb (not keto) but not every day, usually only once a week.

Len, you don't need to exercise to loose weight, as diet is responsible for more than 75%. You have to change what and how you eat and that alone can reverse your diabetes type 2 (and then, after you become lighter and more comfortable, start exercising as it's great for your heart and uses up calories which also helps to loose weight).
