I would say scary! Do you guys remember the Anthrax outbreak in Siberia a few years back that killed people? It was caused by Anthrax that had been frozen for thousands of years and defrosted by global warming!

Viruses can also survive frozen for thousands of years... is the next pandemic awaiting in ice at the moment?

Well, time will tell I guess! It’s certainly possible if these diseases can remain dormant in ice and permafrost for many thousands of years, which is long enough for any natural immunity to that pathogen to have faded away.

I hope it doesn’t happen anytime soon though; If we have to deal with another deadly pandemic so soon after Covid, with more lockdowns and the need to develop more new vaccines to be safe again, I’ll be pretty annoyed! LOL
