So this popped up on my youtube ..very interesting ..

Mar, I am not sure what to think, it could be a small culture of people who did not stay very long on the planet and left before they could develop anything long lasting. However there are so many possibilities we just have to leave our minds open.

Oh, Marilyn, I have been fascinated by this manuscript for years!!!!!!

A Linguistic professor at a university in England has now been able to descifer 14 characters, so I guess it will not be long until they descifer the whole language and we can read it all. They have been able to read a few herbs names and also some constellations like Taurus and the Pleiades (http://www.livescience.com/43542-voynich-manuscript-10-words-cracked.html).

The book was created in the middle ages when men of science were persecuted by the church, hence they all had to hide their writings in code. My guess is that the book is about alchemy (herbs, plants, constellations etc seem to indicate that).

But that's only my humble guess.........

There seem to be quite a few things like this floating around...The Emerald Tablets are another one (at least 6 translations, all completely different).

Part of the issue could be the original language the item was written in becoming extinct...even if deciphered, the translation may prove to be way off, simply because we aren't aware of phrasings/inflections within the language.

Yes, Mordae, many mysteries out there, like the Emerald tablets you mentioned.......the thing with ancient texts is that all translations differ, so which one is the real one?
