Tragedy in Genoa, Italy.

I am very sad today. This is happening in Genova, where my dearest friend lives..... at least two people are confirmed dead and dozens are still missing. A whole neighbourhood near where he lives has been completely wiped out. Luckily he is fine and his family and friends are ok too, as they live in an area that has not been affected, but they don't know if they still have a workplace to go to as the shop it's located in the heart of the city.

And may I say why? The city of Genova have had a few floods in the last 15 years or so. Since the planet is warming up, the weather has changed there, longer summers, less snow and lots of rain like they have never seen before.

Climate change is bloody happening right before our eyes.

It is awful when things like this happen. I am glad your friend is ok Aggie, but what a shock for them and the people of the town. I hope they find people alive and well xx

I just spoke to him and it's still raining and even worse than before..... he's been told his Harley is not in good shape and he is preparing himself for what he'll face moneywise..... but at least they are all ok.

The flood is still going. My friend and other guys he knows are hoping the rain will stop tomorrow to go clean up the city and help the elderly and those with kids that are stuck in the house.

Moments like this bring out the best in people and communities, I think.
