Phil Hughes Dies...

Phil Hughes was the young cricket player who was hit on the head with a ball in a game. He died from a massive brain haemorrage.

For those who don't know much about Cricket, it's played with a springy pitch and a springy bat and the ball is hard!

Imagine a 3" piece of rock coming at you at 140Kmph, when it hits it's going to hurt awhile!

The ball hit him just below his helmet on the upper neck and ruptured the Carotid Artery.

My condolences to his family.

This has been a dreadfully sad week felt by all Australians whether they follow cricket or not.

It was headline news here... such a freak accident and a tragic way to go. I hope he didn't remember much about it... just doing what he loved and then quickly moving on into the light.

So sad, it just shows that yes these freak accidents can happen however safe they make sports.
