Fear-mongery amongst Christian groups Empty Fear-mongery amongst Christian groups

Post by Lenzabi Sun Jul 12, 2015 5:18 pm

Hi all, I felt this is needed here, I sent this reply to a person who my father got the message from and for some reason forwarded the propaganda to me. My response:

Ah, gotta love the Christian fear monger tactics of this drivel. First off, the nation is still quite "Christian" thanks in part to the Cold War, where folks went religious to show they were no commie. second, or maybe it should be first, the Founding Fathers set America as a nation ruled secular, not accepting any one religion over any other so as to avoid the theocracies they saw in Europe. Obama merely reiterated that America was never to be a "Christian Nation" Just look to the history of nations run that way, or the theocracies and their stifling of thought and creativity in the Middle East as well. The Pledge of allegiance did not have "Under God " in it till someone shoe horned it in the 1950s during the Cold War.
One can look up what the founding fathers truly said about separation of church and state

I got this from my father who is not Christian, who got it from a friend who got it from you, i will now say to you, Fear is the mind killer, the little death.

Now what got that to be sent to this total stranger you ask?

If your faith comes first
and your politics later, then you will appreciate this message.

If you don't, I'm sorry I
judged you wrong.

When we get 100,000,000,
that's one hundred million willing Christians to BOND together, voice
their concerns and vote, we can take back America with God's help. Become
one of the One hundred million...

Then let's get 200 million.
It can be done just by sending this email to your friends.

Do the math. It only takes a
single willing heart and a fed up SOUL.

In 1952 President Truman
Established one day a year as a "National Day of Prayer."

In 1988 President Reagan
designated the first Thursday in May of each year as The National Day of
Prayer.

In June 2007 (then)
Presidential Candidate Barack Obama Declared that the USA "Was no longer a
Christian nation."

In 2009 President Obama
canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White
House under the ruse of "not wanting to offend anyone"

HOWEVER... On September 25,
2009 From 4AM until 7 PM, A National Day of Prayer FOR THE MUSLIM RELIGION
Was Held on Capitol Hill, inside the White House.

There were over 50,000
Muslims In D.C. that day. PRESIDENT OBAMA PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS!

I guess it doesn't matter if
"Christians" were offended by this event - We obviously don't count as
"anyone " anymore.

Now President Obama is
encouraging schools to teach the Quran for extra credit, while at the same
time, they cannot even talk about the Bible, God, pray, or salute the
American Flag.

The direction this country
is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, especially
knowing that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be
converted, they should be annihilated, ie; wiped completely
out.

Send this to ten people.

And, send it the person who
Sent it to you!.. To let them know that indeed, it was sent out to many
more.

Yes, sadly we have religious whackos who are as bad if they had the chance, to go and do things like the Islamic named bad groups our media rails about, but the Christians have just as many nutters amongst them, and if they got hold of America, that is the whole of American military might leveled at anyone the American Taliban feel deserves getting bombed by

I do wonder when mainstream americans tipped themselves over that line into religious extremism. Did email help it along, the quickness of it? At least if you saw things in a newspaper, you'd have to take the time to write a letter. All television ratings and the power of advertising dollars. After all, there's no shows if there's no one to pay for them (commercials) and there's no advertising if there's no shows. Vicious circles...

1952 Truman declares a national day of prayer for America, 1956 they shoe horn the phrase "Under God" into the Pledge of Allegiance which until then did not carry that phrase. all part of the scare of the "Reds" during the Cold War, to prove you were not a commie, and a "good American" you became religious and part of a church, or declared as scientists did "Secular Humanist" As seen in the E-mail, Reagan reiterated Truman on a national prayer day.

E-mails just allow this stuff to spread faster amongst the tech using section of  the religionists, the rest have to spread it word of mouth and in publications. In fact this kind of thing used to be common in American Newspapers as the crazy gripped the US

Religion has played well into the hands of those in control. You're right about not wanting to seem like a "Commie" during the Cold War years. They mis-interpreted Marx when he stated that religion was the opiate of the masses. What Karl was referring to was how those on control were using religion to keep the ordinary folks calm. The people were told that they had to put up with all the deprivation and disease in their lives but they would get their reward in heaven.

Stalin was a Social Fascist and he replaced religion with the Cult of the Dear Leader, something similar to what we have here today with the Cult of Bams, the Cult of Cameron, Harper, Key et al. It shows how shallow our politics have become.

Can't justify a large standing Army without an enemy. In the past it was Russia now it's those dastardly Muslims!

If I got an email like these they wouldn't get a nice reply from me!

Funny thing is.... Christians are always complaining about the 'gay agenda', the 'muslim agenda' etc.... and yet, they are the only ones knocking on people's doors, sending this type of emails etc.

True, but of the 350million 'Murikans, many claim to be Christian, and these particular extreme religion groups are noisy and obnoxious, it is the legacy of the Puritans still floating around.
