I read somewhere that they think the whole virus might be a cover up for another vaccine that pregnant women were given which wasn't tested properly, not sure how much truth there is in this but you never know!!

Hmm... may be too many holes in that theory. There are women from other countries who traveled and contracted it that way and it's originating in more than just one country so it seems unlikely to me.

The vaccine thing is bull, I was discussing this on another forum: the vaccine they refer to is TDap (tetanus diphteria pertussis) which is given in the last trimester of pregnancy (27 to 36 weeks of gestation). By the time the vaccine is given, microcephaly is already present, which means the skulls/brains are already small by then.

Maybe I'm just a tad cynical, but to the best of my knowledge (and an article from Havard... http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/features/zika-virus-in-brazil-may-be-mutated-strain/ ) the medical community suspects there is a mutation.

Equally it could be an environmental feature...both GM Mosquitoes being released in the area and pregnant mothers being given a new Tdap vaccine several months before the new horrendous effects surfaced.

Of course that might spoil a narrative or two, not to mention dent a corporations profits...leading to a suing under "free" trade.

^^ Nope, read my post above: by the time the TDap is given microcephaly has already occurred, a normal brain/head doesn't shrink after the 27th week of gestation!!! The vaccine is only given in the thrid trimester and it has been given all around the world, nothing new about this vaccine... unless you know something I don't know.

And of course there is a mutation, that's how things (including us) evolve, sometimes for better and sometimes for worse.

The article also speaks about how it will still be some time before there is a definite connection between the virus and the microcephaly in infants.

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday declared a global emergency over the rapidly spreading Zika virus, saying it is an "extraordinary event" that poses a threat to the rest of the world.

The declaration was made after an emergency meeting of independent experts called in response to a spike in babies born with brain defects and abnormally small heads in Brazil since the virus was first found there last year.

Officials in French Polynesia also documented a connection between Zika and neurological complications when the virus was spreading there two years ago, at the same time as dengue fever.

WHO officials said it could be six to nine months before science proves or disproves any connection between the virus and babies born with abnormally small heads.

Zika was first identified in 1947 in Uganda. It wasn't believed to cause any serious effects until last year; about 80 per cent of infected people never experience symptoms.

They're noticing that the microcephaly predates the Zika virus in Brazil and there is some thought that it may instead be linked to agrochemicals.

Well, we do have many man made toxins in the environmental food web as we speak, one poison was released because Dupont did not listen to the advice of 3M to burn the chemical which was a means of manufacturing Teflon. C8 is in the water, soil and air, and lasts for 25yrs, so I do not doubt the Zika scare has possibly helped uncover more toxins we shoved into our own biosphere.

There is a place in Africa where this mosquitoe is found, and they are not having any of the birth defects we are hearing of on this side of the planet. In other words the mutation, if that is what it is, must have happened in South America.
I do not think we should rule out WMD since every one is developing biological weapons.
