Re: Climate...
A new study by scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and the University of California, Irvine, shows that while ice sheets and glaciers continue to melt, changes in weather and climate over the past decade have caused Earth’s continents to soak up and store an extra 3.2 trillion tons of water in soils, lakes and underground aquifers, temporarily slowing the rate of sea level rise by about 20 percent. wrote:
If this is true, would it not pose a danger to soil erosion, on certain parts of the planet? How can they say its slowing down sea level rise, when its accelerating land saturation? Does that mean less danger? I am not sure I understand the meaning.

Re: Climate...
sponge action can handle absorbing water,,,to a point. Then there will be over-saturation, and we will see more issues.

I thought it gave the wrong impression that the sea level was not rising fast in the way the article stated it. The absorption is only saying that some of the rising sea is going into the earth, however see levels are rising fast.

Yes they are Star, the oceans are heating up and that is causing them to expand.
