I have seen the curvature of the earth myself, with my own eyes. People could not sail around the world or fly around the world if it was flat.

How did you do that Kae? You have been told it's round. Do you know how far you would have to go up to see the curvature of the earth?

Don't have to go up that high... jeez, you can see the curvature from the top of the CN Tower in Toronto. I've flown many times, just look out the window and you can see the curvature. Just a tall building on the prairies will do the trick (no trees or mountains to distort the horizon).

I am not saying you have not seen the curvature, I have not seen it myself, I have taken it for granted because I was told it is.

Yes, I think they're lying. I think someone somewhere decided to create this "rumour" to play a joke on the world, to see how far they could go to get people to believe something like this. And they are sitting back and laughing about it. They are trollers and predators and are doing their best to mess with people's heads.

In looking for something positive about these things, they do give me ample opportunity to work on improving my impatient and prickly nature.

Of course they are lying! One of the reasons I know the Earth is flat is when I observed a lunar eclipse, which happens when the moon is between the sun and Earth. The moon gets a round shadow that starts covering it, causing the eclipse. That round shadow is the Earth... I mean, what else could it be?

Even if you don't believe photos from space, you can see the planet's curvature from a plane.

Another thing I learned, having lived in both northern and southern hemispere, is that stars constellations, in the south they look 'upside down' (or viceversa, lol). On a flat Earth you couldn't see the same constellation on each 'side' of the word. Here is Orion for example, so you can see what I'm trying to say:

I have asked myself many times about the spinning earth, but I could not answer some of the questions I asked myself. Now that the question has popped up again makes some sense to me. I am not just going to take it for granted that everything I have been taught is correct.

Seeing as my brother works in the field of aviation transportation and fuel consumption, he has to use calculus to figure out the actual distance from one point to another, how much ascent is needed so that the descent can be used as part of a way to save on the expensive fuel.flat Earth would be too much like flying a table, so fuel costs would be far easier to calculate, but take into account the curvature of the planet and you get the actual fuel costs for the added distances the curve of the planet forces upon the planes.

And that the time zones would be point less on a flat planet, yet we have day/night cycles as the planets' rounded surface spins around and has one side face the sun, others get some of the sun(Evening or early morning. (Heck, use a arc neck lamp and a ball or orange and you can pretty much reconstruct our day/night cycle yourself.)

Well Len, I have the best instrument ( my body) to detect any change in any position I know on earth. My body is telling me contrary to any calculations differently when it comes to a spinning round planet. I have never noticed a constant change in acceding or descending when the aircraft has reached its normal altitude. If I am to conclude the earth is round and spinning I would have to experience it in some way or the other. Calculations alone cannot answer those questions, they have to be substantiated by feelings.
I cannot prove or disprove what your bother is calculating, my argument is what I see and feel. If the planet is spinning at 1000 miles per hour, I must feel a trace on my being. Do you see what I mean? If when I sit in a craft and its compensating for a certain curvature it means the craft is calculating a change in the environment, I must experience that change if I am inside the craft. If I accelerate on the surface of the planet, I must experience the change in force on my body. If water is the real proof of a flat surface, I must notice the change in flatness if a change occur.

I am not saying that one or the other is true, or false I am saying there are questions.

Let's ignore Nasa for a moment: we can see the moon, the sun and venus with our own eyes, and they are all spheres. Why would other celestial bodies be spheres and the Earth a pancake?

If the Earth is flat why stars are seen 'upside down' in the opposite hemisphere? (see pic I posted before.

If the Earth is flat, why aren't we falling off the edge? Why don't we have pictures of tha edge?

If the Earth is flat, how comes we can see a horizon and not an infinite plane?

How long would it take to fly from London to Australia over a flat planet?

Etc etc

I like your questions, although I cannot answer them for you. My own questions covers some of what you are asking. I think everything that can be thought of and not thought of exist in the universe although I query that also. There must be something inside the universe and something outside. We seem to always address the inside but not the outside. My questions apply to what I can see and feel, all other things will come into play when I understand myself. I don't think trying to understand the universe is going to help me if I do not understand my own subjective universe, my only option is to leave my mind open.

A lot about what I know about flat earth, round earth was taught to me. I looked at it from the lens of telescopes, and photographs, until I could start to ask my own questions based on feeling.

The constellations looked 'upside down' in Argentina as opposed to the UK. You couldn't see the same constellation, let alone upside down, if we lived in pancake Earth.... come on, Star! This is simple science.

Sorry Sis, I am very practical, my science is based on what I can prove for myself. Simply science is what I know. It makes no sense to admit to something I do not know. I study metaphysics, and it dictates I can only say I know when I have experienced what I study.

I am not rejecting anything, pancake earth, round earth, flat earth, there is room for any new idea. What makes you so sure that the earth is not a pan cake? How do you know the pictures you have posted are true? If you accept it for gospel then You could very well be right.

Star me old China, it's called the first Law of Motion. A body at rest remains at rest, a body in motion remains in motion until it is effected by another force.

You get no sense of motion because you and everything in your environment are travelling at the same speed. When you accelerate inertia (body at rest) gives you the sensation of acceleration and the same when you slow down. You don't feel any change because the planet is spinning at a constant speed not speeding up or slowing down. You are spinning with it at the same speed.
