A massive chunk of ice has broken off the Larson Iceshelf. That skating rink is a third of the size of England!

Quite amazing though I think that report is a little lost for facts. It reports this as the largest ever, which it is not, it is within the top ten though, evidently.

The 5800 sq km block of ice is not the largest to have ‘calved’ from Antarctica: an 11,000sq km ‘berg’ was seen to break loose from the Ross Ice Shelf in 2000.
