Humans have the ability to secrete poison.

I had to read this article twice because I thought I misread it! LOL



Humans could someday secrete poison like snakes. Mammals and snakes share a set of genes  that have similar activity between salivary and venom gland tissue. Scientists looked at the genes that were present before venom's origin and were able to understand (to a point) the evolution of venom. 

These genes can produce loads of proteins (venom is mostly proteins and enzymes) and under the right evolutionary conditions, human salivary glands could be repurposed to produce venom. This is not something that could happen overnight, because both toxins and venom systems have changed and evolved several times. 

Chimpanzees and dogs also share some of these genes, however, they are abundant in humans.
