OMG, that first video is insane!!

From space, the blast wave from this eruption looked like the shockwave from an atomic bomb. Monumental forces involved!! 

These waves could travel a long way.

That’s actually exactly what I was thinking too - this was a spectacular explosion with far-reaching repercussions, but by Nature’s standards it was probably just a party popper going off.
Nature has such unbelievable power!
