Well crap on a cracker. Never thought climate change would affect the length of our day! Milliseconds not really being noticeable on a human scale but messing with our tech.

Everything is connected... EVERYTHING.

Wow, you are right, everything is connected.... never knew that a reduction in glaciers meant it makes the planet spin faster.

Should we worry about it?

It’s especially concerning since it’s reversing the trend since the planet’s creation, which has been for the planet to gradually spin more and more slowly.

Is that measurable enough to know that? Just curious.

I don't think we need to worry about it Aggie, it's not a doom & gloom thing... but it is fascinating. They also say in the article it'll probably go back to "normal" too lol

Yep K, scientists have found that tidal friction has been gradually slowing Earth’s rotation speed down over millions and billions of years, although that’s a general trend and there are many other factors which can temporarily influence it - I found this article which was really interesting, especially as it links to other great sources:

I found it a fun read!

That's what I meant, it's a trend but the exact speed on any of those previous years cannot be exactly calculated. And you said it yourself, it's a trend with other factors that "temporarily influence" it.

So don't fret, it's not concerning or reversing any trends as you felt... it's just a blip imo.
