Yep sure does! 
Even In 'reliable news sources' the click bait headlines can still lead to light-on news stories which are beefed up with untruths or twisted truths. Politicians are also good at this.

Politicians and companies affiliated to them are the best at this!
Then you get marketing companies... we are constantly bombarded by snake oil salesmen lies (or half truths).
