North Korea leader Kim Jong-un makes first public appearance in 40 days

Where is leader Kim Jong Un?

NOT everyone is convinced by a photo of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who appears to have made his first appearance in 40 days.

KCNA says Kim “gave field guidance” on Tuesday at the newly built Wisong Scientists Residential District. The agency also says that earlier in the day, Kim “visited the newly built Natural Energy Institute of the State Academy of Sciences.”

But questions have arisen about the reliability of the state media reports coming from North Korea. Some western commentators believe the picture was taken in August.

The North Korean leader was reportedly looking healthy, but was said to be using a walking stick.
