Our search of life on other worlds has so far turned up nothing. But we have been looking for life that, like us, crawls around on the surface of a planet. Now, we are beginning to look at truly alien environments, where life could exist inside worlds rather than on them.

It's life Jim but not as we know it! It could be that life could found that is more primitive than us. Some believe that life at microbial level is living under the surface of Mars.

Of course there is life out there, and lots of it. Life on all different levels, there are planets we haven't even found yet, the universe is so mind bogglingly ginormous that we only still have access to a tiny part of it. We just haven't found any proof of this life yet, and it's many different forms. The question that really matters, is there intelligent life out there? I think there is, somewhere!

I believe there is intelligent life out there, too many galaxies with too many life brewing planets....

There must be life out there. All the building blocks of life are floating around in space. There will be intelligent life out there too. The problem is the distance between likely planets is too vast to make contact with each other.

Yes, Rock, we still have a long way before we are able to travel to other planets, let alone other galaxies.. but we'll get there.

Space is vast, it is also old, roughly 20trillion years, so there are races that have evolved and moved on, some are still playing with their space fleets, others are at our level, others are younger than Humans and lower tech than us. Now for more life, add in the dimensions through the veils. Possible time travelers mucking about.

But as professor Clarke said if we are alone, that is terrifying as that means Humanity is it, and no one wants to be totally alone, with no help if needed by a more advanced and helpfully friendly race, like say leaving here if the sun goes BOOM.

If we are not alone, he was suggesting that we may be in trouble if they don't like us and are more advanced, they can do to us what our ancestors did to native people across the globe, equally we could go back to our nasty habits if we encountered a more primitive people and kill them off for what they have. So all three possibilities are unpleasant to contemplate.
