You have to be surprised at the poll results for Trump. I see some Republicans are thinking he's been planted in the Presy race by the Dems

If that is true, it was an effective move. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Heard that too. The run up to the next US Pressie election is getting weirder by the day!

"I'd love that because she really is somebody that knows what's happening and she's a special person," the Republican candidate said...

Re: The Donald for 2016 race
Aye, the news is still the early primaries which ends in Feb 2016. No telling which of the crazy clown bus riders will be the one to shoot for the "top seat"
It is looking in the Democrats department that the fight is getting down to Hillary, Bernie and Mr. O' Malley.
I am so hoping for Bernie,,,though it would be nice to have a democrat lady sit the seat, she is however too close to the corporates, so not much change with her, same with O' Malley, Bernie is the one authentic of the candidates, so maybe he will over take the much lauded and moneyed Clinton, clear up that his policies are more FDR style than Socialist to ease some fears, and then get the seat, but he will also need voters to vote Dems into the House and Senate to have a chance to get things passed.
God help the world if a Republican gets the pressie. It is a bad scenario if the present heavily Republican House and Senate also have a sitting Rep-Pre. That will ensure the full run to war-mongering Oligarchy ruling this nation.
we must avoid this

The problem is Len that Bernie may just split the vote and allow Scott "Beam me up" Walker or Ted Cruz to cruise in. In which case the world is screwed royally.

Len, don't be surprised at anything, things are not what they seem. A lot of people are so fed up with what is, they are willing to accept anything, even a Trump.

Now they say, if it came down to Bernie versus Donald, Bernie would win

I really don't see that the Clown Prince will get there Len. He's as phony as an empty tin can. No foreign policy, no home policy, just endless bashing and bullshit. Eventually people will see through his crap.
I suspect it will come to a run with either Cruz or Walker (each is as bad as each other). Rubio may make it in Florida but not so likely elsewhere.
Hills has too much baggage and a too tight connection to Wall St., Bernie is quietly working away at the grass-roots level and doing very well. Pulled a crowd of over 10,000 in Madison, Wis. Scotties patch, who said that Wisconsin is Heartland Rep! Shows how far out-of-touch Scottie is.

Trump still strikes a chord with sadly a majority of whiter old men who are racists. His latest anti-immigrant rants also will hurt him as Bernie also has started to gain the Latino voters to his side.
Bernie also raised in two crowds over 11k in Texas, another Rep heartland, the 9k in AZ, another right winger state, and FB has a "Republicans for Bernie" page. Hilary is losing ground to Bernie.

Re: The Donald for 2016 race
Yeah Len Bernie is creaming in with the crowds he draws.
The Republicans are somewhat nonplussed with Donny. He's not a card-carrying member, nor does he rely on donations so they can't censure him either. He's financing his own track.
The scary thing about Donny is that he is trying to buy the Presidency! That's not a good look.
People are seeing in Bernie some-one like FDR! A person with compassion.

Re: The Donald for 2016 race
I think Bernie is bringing across his message much better than most of the politician, simply because he is talking to the people. I however don't think these types of politicians fully understand the depth of corruption that has been allowed to grow out of control, not only in America, but in the entire world.
There has to be a type of revolutionary thinking in terms of the masses, for people like Bernie to burst that bubble, or to drain away that toxic political brew that was allowed to accumulate in the last twenty years.
Substance has lost it's power and was substituted for dollar value. The masses have come to recognize no one care if you have no dollars.
People are looking for something to grasp, at the moment they are grasping for anything without weighing it in the balance.

Re: The Donald for 2016 race
@ Rock: Yes he does come across as compassionate as FDR did. And in some simulations, Bernie would beat Trump, Jebby(though a close one), and Walker.
Trump wants to do things, but in the end, it is gonna burn him.
@Star: Oh Bernie knows about the corruption, it is why he is fighting it, and the fact so many come to hear him shows there is a tiredness of the same old nonsense of the corruption, people are waking to the need to reverse course and maybe fix things. Bernie will of course need a more progressive house and senate to get things accomplished, so the presidential race also must have progressives replace the Republicans as well as the establishment-pro-corporate democrats in power there.
Only time will tell as to how the tide flows

Re: The Donald for 2016 race
In the end Len, it is only the people who are going to change anything. Bernie has to know if he want to change anything it has to go deep, how deep, that is the question.

It has to go deep Star. You can't get rid of weeds by pulling the tops off, you must tear out the roots or they will grow again.
Like Len says, it will need a House and Senate that the majority agrees with him.

We know somewhat the depth Tim, the question is changing the political culture without damaging the whole? When you just consider that the whole opposition part is lining up to run for president. I wonder if the party does not see that something is wrong.
