Turkey's Involvement in Syria...
A site that shows just how Turkey is playing a double game in Syria.

Closely allied with Qatar and the Muslim Brotherhood, Turkey has been the primary path for weapons and foreign fighters in Syria. ISIS has depended on export of oil and import of weapons and fighters through Turkey. Al Qaeda’s Jabhat al Nusra, Ahrar al Sham and other armed opposition groups have depended on weapons and foreign fighters coming in via Turkey for attacks on northern Syria including Syria’s largest city, Aleppo.
The following examples show the extent of Turkish involvement in the war on Syria:
–Turkey hosts the Political and Military Headquarters of the armed opposition. Most of the political leaders are former Syrians who have not lived there for decades.
–Turkey provides home base for armed opposition leaders. As quoted in the Vice News video “Syria: Wolves of the Valley”: “Most of the commanders actually live in Turkey and commute in to the fighting when necessary.”
–Turkey’s intelligence agency MIT has provided its own trucks for shipping huge quantities of weapons and ammunition to Syrian armed opposition groups. According to court testimony, they made at least 2,000 trips to Syria.
–Turkey is suspected of supplying the chemical weapons used in Ghouta in August 2013 as reported by Seymour Hersh here. In May 2013, Nusra fighters were arrested in possession of sarin but quickly and quietly released by Turkish authorities.

This move by Turkey is a game changer for NATO. I think Turkey will not support the US in the end, and try to turn back to Russia, mainly for economical reasons.

Turkey is gonna play it's own game, but hide behind the NATO curtain while doing so.

There are 7 countries that the US Admin is or is going to effect a "Regime Change"; Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Sudan and Somalia.
The question is where does Israel fit in this picture?

Leny, I think Turkey no longer have a choice, they have drawn everyone's negative attention.Rockhopper wrote:There are 7 countries that the US Admin is or is going to effect a "Regime Change"; Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Sudan and Somalia.

Yes Tim, I think that is the question of the moment. Israel must be feeling like a fish out of water. It seems they are failing on every front, and in every alley, where the light is not really shining so bright. Iran seems to be slipping out of reach, the US is not likely to go to war if Israel decides to go it alone, and slowly but surely they are being surrounded by enemies. They are not even sure of Egypt and the agreement they made.

Re: Turkey's Involvement in Syria...
Israel wants tiny Balkan style Emirates that have no power Star.
Turkey’s connections to the ISIS are complicated, to say the least. They are against them, and on their side, all at the same time – partly thanks to Saudi machinations, but mainly because the Turkish government fears its own Kurdish population more than it fears the ISIS. The Kurds are the only generally reliable proxy fighters in the West’s arsenal.
Were they just a little bit smarter, Western governments would realise that all that can come of militarising the struggle against the IS is misery: to others, and to their own countries.
The Russians understand this; they are at least trying to make the best of a bad situation. Our leaders still don’t get it.
