I’ve not studied US Law at all, but I don’t see how a President can refuse to accept an election result if he doesn’t win? I would’ve thought it must be written into the Constitution somewhere, that he has to accept it and deal with it.

I don't know. People squawk about election results when they lose all the time. All it takes is him to say something inflammatory, refuse to leave... people could start rioting on his behalf or against him. How would they get him to leave, send in the army? How's that gonna work when he's the commander in chief?

Very good points! I guess we tend to assume that he can easily be brought back into line by the system, but when he’s in such a position to be able to manipulate that system and overpower it... God, that is frightening! It’s when thinking about things like that where I wish his time in office was over already.

And good point about the Constitution, no he won’t I guess... To him, official documents like that are probably just spare toilet paper.

Like the article suggests, if Biden doesn't win by a massive amount then Trump can dispute the result forever and a day. Perhaps?

If he does Johnson will do the same, they are two sides of the same coin. Trump and his followers are crazy enough to refuse the elections results if Biden wins.

But if Trump loses Johnson knows he will never get a deal with the US because Biden is not a fan of Brexit but a fan of global connections.

Well, Trumpt-dee dumpt-dee has new worries, the supreme court stated he must abide subpoenas for his tax records as NY state is auditing him and investigating, he must have a lot of tax evasion to hide.

Wow, I’d not heard that before but he’s so narcissistic it doesn’t surprise me.
I think he’ll definitely take it badly if he loses this election, although I’m still not sure what he’d be able to to do to fight or protest the result.
Maybe the 2000 election, with the recounting of votes and the dubious result, could serve as a precedent in that eventuality.

I'm flummoxed how this man could be seen as a good leader. He's throttling payments to the US postal service in an effort to stop mail-in votes.

He's straight up saying that's why he's doing it!

I think it’s more important than ever now that Trump loses this election, because if he wins after how he’s behaved in office, it’ll send out the worst possible message and set a dangerous precedent, that it actually pays to cheat and abuse the system, and that there’ll be no consequences if you do.

Really hope the voters will kick his ass out of office at the first opportunity.
