Bright flash of light marks incredible moment life begins when sperm meets eggs.

Human life begins in bright flash of light as a sperm meets an egg, scientists have shown for the first time, after capturing the astonishing ‘fireworks’ on film.
An explosion of tiny sparks erupts from the egg at the exact moment of conception.
Scientists had seen the phenomenon occur in other animals but it is the first time is has been also shown to happen in humans.

Not only is it an incredible spectacle, highlighting the very moment that a new life begins, the size of the flash can be used to determine the quality of the fertilised egg.

I always knew when I got pregnant and I wonder if the spark when life is created sends some sort of hormonal signal to the mum's brain.

This is the explanation of why the spark happens ( a lot less scifi than my assumption! LOL):

The bright flash occurs because when sperm enters and egg it triggers calcium to increase which releases zinc from the egg. As the zinc shoots out, it binds to small molecules which emit a fluorescence which can be picked up my camera microscopes.

Good questions Ags. I do know that zinc is important for a man's spermagenisis, low zinc -- low sperm count.

Nor am I likely to get pregnant, if I do I'll make a fortune! but I have always thought that I started with a bang and flash and fizzled ever since!

Interesting on the explanation... I don't see how that stops it being a signal to the mother's brain though, Aggie. It seems quite feasible to me... either the flash or just something about the chemical reaction.

Well Ags, I would be lying if I said I did not know that, I found that out in my meta physics class, it is known as the spark of creation, ot ray of creation. You sometimes have it when people say love at first sight, a spark springs over like a lightening flash. Tesler knew this, but they ignored a lot of his experiments because he would upset the scientific world.
I also learnt that the trip up the Fallopian tube is the longest, and hardest journey a human takes in the life.
If the scientist continue they will discover spirit, and there will no longer be a dispute over the make up of humans.
