Mum didn't bring up a bunch of heathens, we went to church and learned about the bible @ a early age. I recommend the same to all mothers today!

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
I teach my children about our religion, we don't need a church or somebody to preach at us. They are all well balanced and respectful, don't need the church for that.
Yes I am proud, and I the seven deadly sins does not apply that is a way to install fear into people so they behave, the rule of three applies to us. It is up to the individual to use their own morals.
Like I said I respect anybody's religion, everybody should be free to follow their own path. I do not preach about my religion to others, if they want to know anything I will tell them, but I don't force it upon them. I expect the same respect for my religion and path from others.

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
I echo Aras statement . I am not one to make waves however , VM Please remember by what measures you judge it will be the same measure you will face . God is the judge and none are perfect ..sin is sin . God is forgiving and to love ,one must first understand the rules . Matthew 7:2-3 Do not judge so that you will be judged . For in the way you judge , you will be judged and by your standard of measure , it will be measured unto you . Why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye , but do not notice the log that is in your own eye ..........

The Rule of Three (also Three-fold Law or Law of Return) is a religious tenet held by some Wiccans/Pagans. It states that whatever energy a person puts out into the world, be it positive or negative, will be returned to that person three times.

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
The more I read VM the more irritated I become . What your doing is not what I learned and yes I grew up in church . Reading and understanding are two separate things . I hope you find what your searching for I really do , but love is the way not whatever this is my friend . ..It's ok if you believe one thing and others believe something else . We have hearts and brains that mostly serve us well . To live by the sword is to die by the sword and ok I've said enough ....Peace to you .

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
Angelica, don't worry......don't get irritated,my lovely. I grew up in the church too and when I tell some people I know that I am not religious anymore, they do lash out. But they are just trying to protect their beliefs.
I respect other people's beliefs even though I don't agree with them, but I am an agnostic woman searching for her own truth, and this is why I question it all....and question you all.
I love discussing, as long as it doesn't get personal......and when I say my opinion I don't mean to disrespect anybody, I simply state what I feel and think.
It doesn't matter which religion we may follow (or not) we are all still brothers and sisters on this tiny blue planet.

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
Nobody has said anything that would upset VM, it was him making the comments. We all love VM, he knows that, and we all are very open to discussions and respect people's opinions and beliefs. But when somebody implies to me that I should raise my children by the way of the church, well sorry I do take offence to that. Plus calling us Heathens in a derogatory manner, well that is not respecting what I believe in.

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
hea·then [hee-thuhn]
1. (in historical contexts) an individual of a people that do not acknowledge the God of the Bible; a person who is neither a Jew, Christian, nor Muslim; a pagan.
Pagan, although sometimes applied similarly to those tribes, was more often used to refer specifically to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who worshiped the multiple gods and goddesses said to dwell on Mount Olympus, such as Zeus and Athena (called Jupiter and Minerva by the Romans). The term was applied to their beliefs and culture as well: a pagan ritual; a pagan civilization.
Contemporary paganism, having evolved and expanded in Europe and North America since the 20th century, includes adherents of diverse groups that hold various beliefs, which may focus, for example, on the divinity of nature or of the planet Earth or which may be pantheistic or polytheistic.
So your heathens, Big Frg Deal............

Re: Do you believe the Holy Bible ?
I'm not saying that people have a right to force beliefs on others, I will be the first to admit that when the Jehovah witnesses call I'll avoid them like the plague, and I don't go to church, I don't believe much of the bible, but I know for a fact there is a god, but that is my believe.
But I feel there are more worse things than being called a Heathen, when you think of the horrible things that are happening in our world today, being called a heathen pales into insignificance.
