A fascinating article in Salon about the race issues in the US. By default it could be almost any country in the west.

Who are the white supremacists? There has been no formal survey, for obvious reasons, but there are several noticeable patterns. Geographically, they come from America’s heartland—small towns, rural cities, swelling suburban sprawl outside larger Sunbelt cities. These aren’t the prosperous towns, but the single-story working-class exurbs that stretch for what feels like forever in the corridor between Long Beach and San Diego (not the San Fernando Valley), or along the southern tier of Pennsylvania, or spread all through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, across the vast high plains of eastern Washington and Oregon, through Idaho and Montana. There are plenty in the declining cities of the Rust Belt, in Dearborn and Flint, Buffalo and Milwaukee, in the bars that remain in the shadows of the hulking deserted factories that once were America’s manufacturing centers. And that doesn’t even touch the former states of the Confederacy, where flying the Confederate flag is a culturally approved symbol of “southern pride”—in the same way that wearing a swastika would be a symbol of German “heritage” (except it’s illegal in Germany to wear a swastika).

There’s a large rural component. Although “the spread of far-right groups over the last decade has not been limited to rural areas alone,” writes Osha Gray Davidson, “the social and economic unraveling of rural communities—especially in the midwest—has provided far-right groups with new audiences for their messages of hate. Some of these groups have enjoyed considerable success in their rural campaign.” For many farmers facing foreclosures, the Far Right promises to help them save their land have been appealing, offering farmers various schemes and legal maneuvers to help prevent foreclosures, blaming the farmers’ troubles on Jewish bankers and the one-world government. “As rural communities started to collapse,” Davidson writes, the Far Right “could be seen at farm auctions comforting families . . . confirming what rural people knew to be true: that their livelihoods, their families, their communities—their very lives—were falling apart.” In stark contrast to the government indifference encountered by rural Americans, a range of Far Right groups, most recently the militias, have seemingly provided support, community, and answers.

I think one of the most pressing fear in America is that the white demographics are changing. The old race dragons are going to the happy hunting grounds and their children are not following their footsteps. The new arising demographs are not committed to racial conflicts, at least not to disrespect of other cultures.

I agree with you.... and the profiling works everywhere, police, to get a job, etc. Very sad but it will change one day, as the younger generations are different.

Also, when the Police confront armed white people, they "de-escalate" rather than use deadly forces such as on unarmed black males. White privilege exists, Racism also exists here, sadly. It used to be more underground, but is crawling back into the open.

Yep Len. There is a kind of siege mentality with many of the western coppers.

Several of ours have been charged with using "excessive force" and our cops don't carry guns. Usually against minorities too.

I do not think that it is only thhate US that is experiencinutg the uprise in racial profiling, the trend is world wide. However the stance to tyoung people of the world have experienced too much hate and useless wars and the collective consciousness I think that has to take place is finally happening. A part of what we are experiencing is the resistance to the reality of that change. African people are not going away nor are Caucasians, so we have to look at each other and give thanks for the air we both breathe. We have to give thanks for the one sun that gives us our energy, if not we will destroy each other.

What I can say ken, is that induced phenomenon creates it own opposite, just as movement create friction. After we have induced a thing into existance we cannot do more than control its existence and mentain a ballance. Once we are out of ballance we create war and madness, and suffering begins. White people suffer under slavery much the same as black people do, the difference is method of the stress delivery.

Because at the foundation of Istanbul in 1453 anything with two legs got raped ... which is pretty much what's going on in Yezidi country and Syria by the morons du jour? It's not confusing. Yup, they knew about his background as he did a little works for the feds in the past. He had to go to a hearing about his SSDI benefits (like a court), the guy walks with a cane and can't feel the bottom of his feet.

Frankly, I think all of that is going to change very soon after our impending Precessional disaster. Otherwise humanity is going to have very little opportunity to overcome what's in the cards.
