A democracy requires an informed populace.  So we have neither the cause nor its end.  We lost the bubble about 1912 in the election of Woodrow Wilson, when we should have tarred and feathered every treasonous Congressman, Supreme Court judge and White House staffer.  And done the same every four years since.

At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected?  I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us.  It cannot come from abroad.  If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.  As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.

I don't expect "democracy" as we have known it to do anything but what it has invariably done elsewhere.  Heads will roll, resulting in our current tyranny of a few criminals becoming a tyranny of new and fewer.  See Polybius, The Histories VI.

Still asking myself if the two policemen gunned down by a black man was not staged to quell the protest that would not go away. I am suspicious because the shooter as reported, killed himself. These two cops were posted at that spot against their normal routine. Did the shooter know they were there, or did he just shoot any cop who had a clear skin? Very fishy stuff.

Interestingly, the two slain officers were Chinese and Hispanic ethnicity each. No Anglo killed.
