Very, and it's probably something that should be highlighted.

Mmord, we the public are on our own in terms of what they report to us. There are so many things that don't add up a blind man can smell it.

Aye it should, but will it be?
Virii have the uncanny ability to mutate very rapidly given the right circumstances and Ebola could do so and become aerosol transmitted. The purpose of a virus is to reproduce not kill it's host unless there is a net gain by doing so. With Ebola that gain is there already.

Re: Deadly Ebola Virus
Tim as it turns out the relatives of the soldiers sent to west Africa seems to have been right about their concerns about the safety of their loved ones. There seems to be questions arising how the nurse managed to infect herself when she followed the guidelines dictated by the hospital. There are some conflicting reports on how the viruse is spread. There are also reports that the strain of this virus is not the same as the Ebola already known. I am still suspicious that this is a biological weapon athough I want to take into consideration what you mentioned about it not being viable. Do you smell a rat? If so how does it smell. Lol

What happens to animals with Ebola?
OCTOBER 14, 2014 7:07PM
HEALTH officials in Texas are faced with a second major dilemma amid the current Ebola crisis: What to do with the pet dog of the nurse who contracted the disease?
Authorities are currently trying to find an appropriate place to monitor a dog that belongs to Nina Pham, the nurse who contracted the disease after caring for Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.
Duncan died last week after becoming the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the U.S.
US nurse with Ebola identified as Nina Pham
Ms Pham’s apartment is being thoroughly cleaned after tests over the weekend confirmed she is infected. A Dallas spokeswoman says the city will make sure the dog is cared for.
It comes following a public uproar in Spain after authorities elected to euthanise a dog named Excalibur that belonged to nursing assistant Teresa Romero who remains in hospital with the disease — despite the animal showing no signs of the virus.

Re: Deadly Ebola Virus
Maybe I am too far out on a limb, but I can't help asking myself why did the government buy so much bullets and plastic coffins some time ago. There was this question of for what reason. Well if Ebola broke out we strongly hope it does not, there could be a reason. Population control is on a lot of peoples mind. Maybe there is a cure if it was man made, but only for the chosen few. Did anyone come up with the reason why the governmsent bought so many bullets and plastic coffins?

Re: Deadly Ebola Virus
Sadly Star, I can come up with far to many reasons why the US government would buy these, at the time it was the H1N1, now Ebola. It could also be because the economy is going to crash badly, crops are going to fail (especially in California), infrastructure is so old and outdated that sooner rather than later there will be mass outages followed by civil unrest (which seems to kick in three days after the event), etc blah etc.
To many convergences to pick a winner (picking the losers isn't to difficult though), but end of the day it's to maintain control and clean up afterwards.

Re: Deadly Ebola Virus
America needs a actual new-new deal. Put the rich back where they belong, corporates back to just doing business, and the government doing what it can to make life better for folks.
Obama sold himself like he was the 2nd coming of FDR, we need not a sales pitch, but a real deal, a FDR type who will fight to lead us to a better deal, the rich need to be back to pre-1980 taxes to help bail this nation out, cut Military spending so we do not have this massive over spend equal to the top 26 military powers of the world that are not America, stop so may failing subsidies to corporates that do NOT need it, and get the money back to medical, food distribution, and social safety nets, invest in tuition as we once did.
It has been shown how flawed the Libertarian ideals spewed by the hysterics of Ayn Rand have failed, and failed hard. Trickle down economics has failed. The rich are not volunteering to pay it back for their success, proving that they are parasites.
Corporates like BIG OIL and such also show they are parasites as they suck what they can to pay their shareholders, shareholders who still had to work, but got their share holder pays outs at the end of the quarters based on profitability of the companies they bought stocks in, not this daily silliness of parasitization of a nation.
They claim that increased basic worker pay will increase costs, yet we saw no major costs added to products when their CEO's got 500% pay increases, a single person making the pay of hundred if not thousands of workers per year and for what? what exactly does he do that his predecessors did well for so much less pay? NOTHING, it is the same exact job that used to be worth 300k a year, maybe 500k a year, now they make millions if not billions as their companies wither or move to other places looking for the next low wage nation, but they are running out of that excuse as other nations are also seeking a minimum wage that would be more than these guys want to pay out as they have to share their profits with the executive officers who are over-payed, and these shareholders who looked for an easy way out.
These same parasites then have the nerve to have think tanks and news media label the suffering masses as "takers" and useless feeders when they were the ones doing the hard work, making their products they used, or still use if their jobs have not been shipped away. And they still spoon feed this nonsense that America is the "Best nation on Earth" to the masses who have had their educations dumbed down so that they believe this hornswaggle.
America is worn out, rusty, and crumbling yet they make it so folks do not see it. that their freedoms are eroded, rights dismantled, and their politics are shady and corruption runs rampant, even openly so, other nations need to point fingers and say "Shame" for destroying your own legacy.
I will place my votes for progressives such as Bernie Sanders of Vt as president, and others like him to congress and senate. it is time other in this nation did as well, and those seeking to emulate our Oligarchial Corporatocracy need to be also beaten out of offices and voted away from power before they wreck the lives of those nations.

Yep Len. Bams is just the same as Geo. Bush with a kinder face.
The two parties are joined at the hip now and there is little choice between them. We have the same problem here.

Read this, yes it is her point of view, but coming from a nurse I think people should take notice of this! Scary!

This part stuck out...
The virus may not be airborne, but the droplets are.

Yep it is Stirkles. But let's not get paranoid about it.
Most western countries have good Health Systems and can handle an outbreak quite well. In Africa the situation is much different.

From what I've seen and heard so far, Rock, I am not inclined to agree with you. I feel that there would be some running to catch up and much more of an impact than expected.
Not paranoid to bring things to the table to have a look at, interpret, and discuss

Republican tax cuts over here down the years caused delays in our people finishing research sooner for a Ebola vaccine. always cuts for all else except going to war or fattening the already swollen bank accounts of those who do not need it

I think I agree with you Kae, more to this episode that meets the eye. From what we are now hearing there are reasons to be concerned. Although I think Tim is right about not letting fear override us.

Quite right Ka. It's not paranoid to discuss it.
What I was referring to was that the media tend to take things and generate paranoia around them to push ratings. Ebola is one of those situations building fear when there should be common sense. When people are afraid they stop thinking clearly and that can cause a kind of sweeping paranoia.

Re: Deadly Ebola Virus
The opposite of paranoia is putting ones head in the sand. There's a worthwhile discussion to be had in the middle ground.
