The more appropriate term is 'climate-change'.

Global Warming implies warming over the entire planet, this is not the case.

I disagree LGR, Global Warming will and does cause some areas to get hotter and dryer and other places to get much colder and wetter (including ice storms).

A name is a name, call it Global Change or Climate Warming it doesn't matter a toss.

They have in other videos, pointed that Earth had a balance, an equilibrium between the gases. Then comes the Industrial revolution and then age, now the amount of fossil fuels burned up grows as we go from simple home hearth fires to coal burning power plants, then oil, and then the manufacture of combustion engines, our wars also grow bigger and more things burn. The delicate balancing act the Earth is doing is at a set point, but all of this human use of fossil fuels and making of much toxic carbon smoke and other gases makes the carbon rise, a small % mind you, but remember, this is a very fine and delicate balance we are talking about, where even an ant crawling onto the weight lifter's barbell can make that end tip more and strain the lifter, thus causing him to fall to that side if he is not able to adjust fast enough.

That % is why they say the Anthropoccentric addition of what we added has caused the turmoil, the weights got just enough of a tip that the weightlifter is now struggling to maintain balance, and is wobbling due to that small addition he was not ready to deal with.

Because we are dumping our waste (CO2 and CH4) into the atmosphere and that is causing the changes. All we need to do is stop doing that and the Climate won't change any more. So it's within our power to stop it.

Thus we do not need to have god-like powers, or be superman in a tight costume to fix things, just the will of the world to get the corporates as well onto doing things that are less emitting of those gasses. Many refused to install capture devices and pay the fines as they felt it was cheaper to pay fines. IF they had to pay 500k for it, rather than the 5k, as in what happens with TV/Radio stars for dropping the "F" word on air, they might see the capture devices as a smarter move, or just work on manufacturing in a cleaner manner.

The longer this is put off though the less time we have to make the chance for those repairs to be made. Humanity has pissed and shat in it's bed long enough that we are seeing the effects of overflow, as Chief Seattle foresaw back in the 19th century based on his observations of the Euro-American behaviors he saw before he passed on.

Unproven. CO2 levels lag temperature change. We have discussed this before, you don't listen and you don't hear. You are FIXED in your beliefs.

Wrong the CO2 levels preceed temp change. That particular statement has been completely discredited. The proponents of it were caught out fiddling the data.

I agree, we have discussed this at length before but apparently you don't listen and you don't hear. I base my data and knowledge on reliable and trustworthy info not on weird fringe sites or the word of liars and charlatans.

Actually, latest research has now proven that CO2 definitely causes global warming:

An 11 year study unearths impacts of our growing carbon emissions, and it's not pretty.

Scientists have directly confirmed what they have long assumed to be true: Increasing amounts of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, are trapping heat from escaping back into space and are thereby causing global warming.

The observations of what is known as radiative forcing were made over the course of 11 years between 2000 and 2010 from two locations in North America, in Oklahoma and the North Slope of Alaska. Highly specialized instruments in both locations were used to measure thermal infrared energy fluctuations and analyze the source of such changes

The study, published Wednesday in the advance online edition of the journal Nature, explores the Earth's energy account balance. It found that over time, the planet is running a surplus of energy at the surface, causing global air and ocean temperatures to increase with a wide variety of mostly negative impacts.

Before this study, scientists already knew that the energy balance was tilted in the direction of a growing surplus, but they lacked precise measurements at the surface. The researchers were also able to trace this energy surplus mainly to man made emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases through the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil, as well as forest fires.

CO2 has now been unmistakably proven to cause a greenhouse effect. We are all guilty of it, we all have the responsibility to make it right.

Our environment is so much cleaner than it was in the 1950's. It's amazing how clean our rivers and lakes are now. Quit being a negative Nellie.

Now that is an example of Dogma based of false logic. The premise states that because humans change the environment it must be because aliens fiddled our DNA.

There are many reasons, all quite earthly, why humans change the environment where we live, survival is one. We humans evolved in the tropics yet we can live almost everywhere on the planet these days because we change our environment to suit. We are not the only organism which changes their environment, beavers for example do too. There are many other examples.

Yes, the world was worse in the 1950's because then what we were doing was not fully understood. Today we have cleaned up much of the mess because now we do understand. The clean-up was not the doing of businesses but by the method that makes a red-blooded, gun-toting Yank cringe -- Socialism and Govt. intervention. Govts. forced the messy businesses to clean up the messes they were making and stop making more. Hence the reduction in CO2 and other GHG's gases to be enforced on those businesses and the people who don't give a damn.
