Yes exactly! They have the first spot on the NSW ballot paper so you never can tell unfortunately.

You are right, you never know, look at the referendum here, Brexit was built on lies that people believed, and look at the chaos it's caused in the UK.... many people are not very smart unfortunately.

This is very true. I've been very surprised how many people, particularly the young, who have no idea about the parties let alone the candidates. With compulsory voting it really makes you wonder.
We're just a day away from the big day. The polls are saying 50/50 two party preferred. I'm still thinking Liberal/National coalition will sqeeze back in.

I didn't know voting is compulsory in Australia. It is mandatory in both Italy and Argentina but I dont' see the point as those who don't care will give a blank vote anyway.

Re: Australian Federal Election
Yep 6% of votes last election were blank/informal. The difference between winning and losing the election was 7% two party preferred *shrugs*

Re: Australian Federal Election
Far from it Rock. Too close to call tonight, no majority, no outcome. And a very mixed Senate result coming too by the looks of it. Pauline Hanson looks to have a couple of seats grrrrr, even ex-Kiwi Derryn Hinch got a big red chair. A good chance we could be heading back to the polls. Interesting next few days, but either way not a healthy outcome at all.

A stalemate then... results like that tend to mean nothing gets done in gov't. How frustrating all around.
