Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
Probably my favourite U2 song(along with Angel of Harlem), I love the power and sentiment of the lyrics; I feel like I’ve been in the position which the song is describing a number of times:
(U2 - With Or Without You)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I first heard this song about 13 years ago and I’ve always thought the lyrics were particularly heartfelt and beautiful. It’s always struck me as being touchingly sincere and profound.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
One of my favourite Green Day songs, and not a particularly well known one, which gives it all the more meaning for me; being off of their Kerplunk album it shows a different and more sentimental side of them, which I like. Also, I think the sentiment of the song itself is beautiful.

I’ve always loved this one, but a few months back it gained additional powerful meaning for me. I think it’s such a beautiful tune altogether:

My favourite Killers song, and one that’s always resonated deeply with me as it seems to identify with my hopes and dreams on a personal level. I love the video too:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I’ve always liked this song by Alanis, but it was a number of years after it came out that I really started identifying with it. It feels biographical to me in a sense, as I feel that, line by line, she’s describing my character bit by bit; very powerful. One of my favourite tunes, and definitely connected with my admiration of her as an artist.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
A track I’ve gotten to like in the last few years, after I happened to hear it playing in the cafe area of my local Students’ Union at uni. I love it for the vibe, the energy and the tune itself:
(Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It)

I’ve always loved this track for its abstract vibe as well as its lyrics and melody... It also has another video which I really like.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I’ve always loved this one. It brings back some early childhood memories(I just remember it), but mainly I’ve just really connected with it since I discovered it “properly” about 12 years ago. Love the energy of the whole song and the vibe of the lyrics

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I always loved Amy Winehouse and felt a personal connection with her somehow, so think one of her songs - and the most positive one of all, in terms of its title - is appropriate for the 50th post in this thread:
(Amy Winehouse - Our Day Will Come)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I’m generally not a fan of Kylie’s early stuff, but I love this - partly because it gets so relatively little airplay(in the UK at least), and partly because I’ve always connected so strongly with the sentiment of it:
(Kylie Minogue - Je Ne Sais Pas Pourqoui)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This song has had a special place in my heart ever since it got re-released in the summer of 2003 - which also happened to be first summer I was really old enough to go clubbing, and thus did generally go clubbing 5 nights a week. So many memories...!
It’s stayed a favourite of mine ever since, with new memories being made, and it haunts me sometimes too, which is all good, ha. A very strong connection with this one
(N-Trance - Set You Free)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
The most beautiful song from my favourite movie... Too much to explain in detail here, I’m planning to elaborate on it in my personal thread. But what I’ll say here is that I love it more than words can describe easily:
(Moon River - Breakfast At Tiffany's)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
The first song Bon Jovi released when I was old enough to really connect with music, so it was the song that effectively introduced me to them - I really loved it from the first listen, so much that soon afterwards I wrote some of the lyrics on one of my school folders as a declaration of my own growing independence at that time. I considered it to be a personal anthem:
(Bon Jovi - It's My Life)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I was very drawn to this track when it first came out, since I loved the lyrics of the verses as well as the melody and rhythm. I’ve always been a big White Stripes fan, but this song particularly resonated with me:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I first connected with this song when I happened to hear it playing on a local radio station in June 2002; looking back, it was my first ever experience of the power-surge of emotion when a song speaks directly to your soul, although I had no idea what that experience was back then - I just knew it was one of the most beautiful songs I’d ever heard up to that point. I fell in love with the lyrics at the same time:
First, when there’s nothing
But a slow, glowing dream
That your fear seems to hide
Deep inside your mind.
All alone, I have cried
Silent tears, full of pride.
In a world made of steel, made of stone...
First, when there’s nothing
But a slow, glowing dream
That your fear seems to hide
Deep inside your mind.
All alone, I have cried
Silent tears, full of pride.
In a world made of steel, made of stone...

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
My favourite Razorlight song on balance(And I’m a big fan of all their stuff) - I connect strongly with the lyrics as well as the tune. I find it appeals to my chaotic side:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I’ve always loved the energy and power of this track, and I feel like it has parallels with my own life experiences too:
(Posting a lyrics video here because the official video for this track is interspersed with people talking and doing impressions, which kinda detracts from the experience of listening to it)
(Feeder - Just A Day)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
Another track which feels biographical to me, as listening to the words felt like self-identification when I first listened to the song. I love the whole Escapology album, but this is a particular favourite of mine:
