Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
Great article, and very interesting to see how various different countries handle the quarantine situations. (Probably best not to go for a holiday in Hong Kong right now, because you’d most likely spend that whole time quarantining! But in fairness, I think the longer the quarantine period is, the more sure it is to work, so they’ve got the right idea.)
I agree with Scotland making international arrivals quarantine in hotels, and yeah, I also think BoJo will copy us if we do! LOL

All the coronavirus in the world could fit inside a Coke can, with plenty of room to spare

Yep, LOL... Packs a lotta punch for its size. Who would’ve thought something so small could cause so much harm.
That would be a type of Coke which definitely shouldn’t be snorted!

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
Well, another friend has lost contact, last he checked in, his bropther refused to be cautious and attended his church. Based on what my friend said, it sounds like the brother is/was selfish, and not worried.
Turns out that church spread Corona Virus, he brought it home to infect the family. My friend was suffering from symptoms that were agony to him, he reported his 89yr old mum went to the ER, I sus[pect by now with over a week of non contact that all are in the hospital and I am very worried, another friend is abvout to die from the virus.

Sorry to hear about this Lenz, it’s never nice when someone loses contact in those circumstances.
Hoping that your friend recovers.

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
Great news from Public Health Scotland today: the covid vaccines have shown to reduce hospital admission risk by 85% and 94% (Pfizer 85% and AZ 94%). This results were found 4 weeks after having the first dose of the vaccines. This data is for people up to the age of 80. For those above 80 the vaccines showed to reduce the risk of admission by 81%. Scientists still don't know whether the vaccines are cutting transmission too.

I think this is excellent news! I had noticed a reduction in cases and deaths in the past week and I was hoping it was related to the vaccines. Sooo glad it is!

Brilliant news!! These vaccines are awesome!
I also read recently that there’s speculation that the vaccines might actually also reduce the risk of transmitting the virus, and that their immunity against it might last as long as 2-3 years(Although it’s still expected that the vaccine will be administered to people annually).
Both really cool things if true!

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
@TrueCrazyLion, I hope the immunity will last longer than a flu jab and I can't wait for scientists to have enough data to know.
@Rogue, I was surprised to see that but I am glad as it is a vaccine that will be used all over the world.
Tomorrow I am finally having my 2nd dose... after having Covid and 2 vaccine doses I think I'll become immortal! LOL
I have been told people do get stronger side effects after the second dose (as in some temperature and headaches). I will let you know how I feel.

Great to hear you’re getting your second dose now Aggie! Hope you won’t have any side effects(Sounds strange that there are more side effects being reported after the 2nd dose than the first dose, although with a new type of vaccine I guess you have to expect the unexpected to an extent). Hope you’ll feel fine!

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
That's only what some people have said, not from a scientific study. My colleagues started getting their 2nd dose yesterday and so far none of them have complained.

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
That sounds great, that they all seem to be feeling fine! I’ve got to say, personally I’ve not heard any reports that there are side effects - with either the first or second doses of the vaccine. It sounds like a brilliant vaccine, highly effective with no side effects. A scientific masterpiece!
Now I’m getting impatient waiting to get mine! LOL

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
I am waiting for a vaccine appointment, as my state is doing the vaccinations, I was at my doctor's recently for a regular check up, I asked if they had the vaccines (which would actually make some sense), they said no, the state is who to contact.
Meanwhile, still nothing from my friend in California who ceased all communications on Feb-1
