Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
I might get my first dose of the vaccine as soon as March or as late as July, going by the estimates of how quickly it’s being rolled out and depending which group I’ve been categorised in; I really have no idea when I might get offered it yet, I just hope it won’t be too long. I’ve been told by my registered GP practice that I’ll get a phone call from them when they’ve got an appointment for me to get the vaccine, which at least means I’ll know sooner than if they were going to send me a letter; I hope it’ll be soon.
For all I know, I might get offered it based on my age, and end up getting vaccinated after Rogue and K do!

No, I'm not following it that closely. Whatever is one offer is the one I'll take.

I understand I'll be getting the AstraZeneca vaccine.

It seems not to be clear which vaccine I’ll be offered when the time comes, both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines have been used here so far, but I’m hoping it’ll be the Pfizer one, as it’s the one I’ve heard the most positive reviews of - although my understanding is that they’re more or less equally good.

Yes, they are both good, just different type. The AZ has been proven to work better actually, at least in Scotland.
I am obsessed with the Pfizer because it's new technology and they can tweak it to create all sorts of vaccines in the future, even for cancer. The AZ is more 'old fashion' and can only do its main job: immunise against a virus.

Yeah, think I prefer the Pfizer vaccine for the same reasons - this one could also act as a prototype for others! That’s part of the reason why I want to get it, I think.

Same here Lenz, I’m still waiting and have no idea how long I’ll have to wait for... The not knowing when is what sucks TBH, if we had a date for our appointments which we knew in advance, it would at least give us something to aim for; as it is it still feels like we’re in the dark.
Hope you’ll get your first dose soon!

Tomorrow I am finally having my 2nd dose... after having Covid and 2 vaccine doses I think I'll become immortal! LOL
Ags, are you now able to have some kind of vaccine passport, or move around more easily locally?

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
Well, they are not going to do health passports in Scotland, to make sure those not vaccinated are not treated differently.
But if I need one, for example to travel abroad, my GP can give me one to confirm I have been vaccinated.

We will supposedly have something in an app that provides evidence of being vaccinated.

That's good too, as long as there is a way to provide evidence any type is fine... I'm sure some countries will require proof.

Have most hospital workers eventually decided to be vaccinated? I hoping there won't be too many people declining.

Most staff got vaccinated in all health care settings, I would say 10% probably didn't do it.

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
IMO it would be crazy to not get the vaccine if offered it; lately there have even been ads getting shown on Spotify for example, telling people to get the vaccine when invited to.
I agree with giving people the choice, but I just find it very hard to believe why anybody would want to say no, unless they’re being forced to delay getting the vaccine for medical reasons(Medication, etc).

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
I have been asking people that refused it and they typical answers are:
-They mess with your DNA
-They cause infertility
-I have heard horror stories about it
-The vaccines are fake and they are only doing it for the money
As you can see the stupid Q-Anon conspiracies have brainwashed people with little understanding of science.

Disappointing isnt it... Is that hospital staff or general public?

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
No, that's healthcare staff.... I think the general public is slightly worse.
EDIT to add: healthcare staff more reluctant to have the vaccine are healthcare assistants and domestic (cleaning) staff. The number of qualified staff (nurses, doctors, etc) that do not trust the vaccines is minimal.

Re: CORONAVIRUS-Updates, discussion, etc
Ahhh... I did think it might be concerning if actual medical staff were saying those things. Maybe the others just need some time to understand better.
