But I go with what I see, and I see changes in Italy for example: when I was a child, in the late 70s and 80s, winters were long and really cold, with lots and lots of snow. Now they haven't gotten any snow yet, and it's December..... they are getting so much rain they are being flooded all the time.

The warmer weather is causing it.

LOL I love all seasons really, although Autumn is my favourite.

I am going to Italy on the 10th of February but to Genoa (Genova), where the infamous Columbus was from. One day I want to go south again and visit Pompei and Naples, those are amazing places..... maybe when we go you should too, VM and we'll be your translators and guides!!

Yep Ags. Italy is a fantastic place. I have been there many times and loved the place.

Pompeii is an awe inspiring place to visit too. If you get to Napoli take one of the guided tours to the top of Vesuvius, the view is fantabulous from there.

There are tour companies that will take you up by donkey and supply a meal at the top. To sit there having a picnic and taking the vista of all of the South is breathtaking!

Thanks for the invite, no traveling funds for me for awhile. I just make due with Rick Steve's and Rudy Maxa right now.  lol

Nice!

Heard Herculaneum is smaller, but less crowded.

Yep Herculaneum is another place to visit. So is Stabiae further south.

Pliny Jr saw the eruption and described it in detail. Watched in from his villa in the north.
