The main thrust?
That they're not the Conservatives hahaha.
Seriously, that's pretty much how it works here. We don't so much vote for a gov't as against one.

It's really more about the parties than the leaders imo.

Re: Canada Federal Election
Thanks for the Policy charts Kaere, interesting. Your Liberals seem very much more progressively Liberal than our Liberals here.
I'm feeling this might be a some fresh air for Canada?

I know it's a lot but I thought they might answer any questions.
The Liberal party has had it's fair share of scandal and terrible governing, I think it's a lot of the reason why the Conservatives have been in power for so long.
Yes, a breath of fresh air but I really don't think it's going to last. I think we're going to suffer economically.

Re: Canada Federal Election
First thanks for the chart it helped to get an idea of what the elections was about.
What I meant to ask was, what argument did the liberals stress in their manifesto? You know, like the economy is a big deal, immigration is a big deal, and so on.

The parties don't really focus on any one thing. They hit all points.
This might help? Truthfully though, they all say this stuff... http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/election/campaign-promises-trudeau-s-pledges-for-a-liberal-government-1.2619126

Yes, it sounds familiar, there are some hidden problems there but there always is.We just have to watch all of them without picking sides.

Re: Canada Federal Election
Today it's a "Rock Star" politics Ka. It's all governed by how photogenic the PM is not on what they offer. Very shallow I know.
Harper came across as stilted and grumpy. He only had short press conferences and only allowed previewed questions.
Time will tell if Justin Trudeau will be any better.
Tim.

This is great to see...
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/11/04/justin-trudeau-cabinet_n_8471274.htmlOTTAWA — Justin Trudeau unveiled a 31-member cabinet filled with new faces, casting aside experienced Liberal old hands in his first move as prime minister on Wednesday.
Trudeau, who had promised gender-parity, appointed 15 men and 15 women to serve as his council of ministers.

Re: Canada Federal Election
He is definitely growing on me.. I like that Trudeau is scrapping the plan to purchase F 35s(our money can be spent in better areas imo, so this makes me happy) and that he is ending our combat mission. (i will always vote for peace over war) So i must say i am liking him thus far.
(and he likes Star Wars lol...)

Re: Canada Federal Election
I think he is extremely bold, and maybe an example for the rest of the world. It's not going to be easy, but you ave to have someone willing to cross the corruption line.
I have to give it to him, he is doing and not talking.

I think he is really bold, I know he is not going to have it easy, but someone has to take the lead. He maybe an example to the rest of the world, considering it's a gamble. I have to give it to him, he is dam bold, but we need people who are willing to make real change.

I thought this was interesting... still, only time will tell if he'll be able to keep the promises he made. It's still early days and a honeymoon to boot.

Re: Canada Federal Election
As I said before, brilliant and new, I think this is a start, however the biggest problem is the support of the people. I am not Canadian, but I feel good, because this is good for the world.
