Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This tune has been in my head on and off for ages now, it seems to be haunting me a lot, one way or another:
Love Laura Branigan too.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
Looking back, this was the first U2 song I actually connected with in any way; I vaguely remember it from my early childhood when it got released as a single and got the associated airplay on the radio, and I remember loving the psychedelic guitars in the chorus sections.
About 10 years ago I rediscovered it and burned it onto a mix CD I made at the time, and I've particularly liked it ever since:
(U2 - Some Days Are Better Than Others)

A song which has grown on me over the years, and the more I've connected with it, the more it seems to have haunted me too:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
A track which was released as a single in early 2003 during my first year at Uni, and which I've always thought of as underrated:
I thought OK Go's debut album cover was a cool design too.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
A Queen song I've always loved, mainly for its quirkiness, ever since I first listened to the Night At The Opera album in full, back in the summer of 2001(And seeing the lyrics in this video has made it feel funnier still):
I was somehow put in mind of it again on seeing K's response to my Full Moon photo in the other thread... I really can't explain how my mind works sometimes. LOL
(Queen - Seaside Rendezvous)

One of my favourite Lady GaGa tracks, I’ve always loved the power and energy of it - especially the final bridge, which I think is inspirational:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I loved this when it came out, and it was one of my first experiences of being drawn to a classical-themed track(I remember it being a guilty pleasure at the time, for that reason). I’ve always thought of it as very touching and emotive:
(Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman - Time To Say Goodbye)

A song I’ve always found very beautiful, in terms of the overall tune, as well as the lyrics. Think it’s actually pretty underrated:

My favourite Beautiful South song, I’ve always loved the tune and rhythm as well as the melody:
It wasn’t actually till years after the single came out that I heard the album version... LOL.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
One of my favourite feelgood songs, and back in 2010 it took on a more powerful feeling altogether, as I found it spoke to my soul as well as my ears(And I would've posted it here sooner, but when I looked for it before it seemed to have disappeared off of YouTube for some reason!):
(Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I've been familiar with this track since my childhood, but I connected much more strongly with it after it haunted me early last year, and the connection I felt was a very powerful one; this is another song which I found speaks directly to my soul with its energy and vibe:
(Petula Clark - Downtown)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
One of my favourite feelgood songs and another one which speaks to my soul; at least once, I've woken myself up by singing along to it when it started playing on the radio while I was sleeping. I've always loved hearing it on nights out too. It's never particularly haunted me, but I've been more actively drawn to it than I've been to most others:
When the day is dawning
On a Texas Sunday morning
How I long to be there
With Marie who's waiting for me there
--------
There's a church bell ringing
Hear the song of joy that it's singing
For the sweet Maria
And the guy who's coming to see her
Just beyond the highway,
There's an open plain
And it keeps me going,
Through the wind and rain!
I don't think it relates to me personally, because I've never known a Marie or Maria, although the name has haunted me in the past. But it's always been a particularly strong energetic connection to a musical track

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
My favourite Status Quo song, which I was initially drawn to because it sounded so different from most of their others, but over time it's acquired greater and greater personal meaning for me too:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I just started falling asleep a few minutes ago and as I started to go subconscious, this song suddenly started playing in my head. I remember it from hearing it on the radio when I was a kid, but I've not heard it at all for years now.
This seems to be a new connection that's just started, so thought I'd document it here:
(Squeeze - Hourglass)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This is not a song I've ever actually liked as such, but it has haunted me a lot over time; the other night when I got a taxi to Kingsway Farm for my Carvery meal, it was playing on the radio in the taxi, and then when I got another taxi to Asda later the same night, this song was playing on the CD which the driver was listening to; I also worked he must've started the CD playing just before I got in. This was probably the best example yet.
I think it should be posted up here, anyways:
(Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
My favourite Fleetwood Mac song, and has been ever since I first saw a mini-review of the 1989 F1 season which the BBC made using it as the soundtrack. In recent years I've also connected with the lyrics, and found that they resonate strongly with me on a personal level:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
One of my favourite classic cheesy songs, and one which I think encapsulates and epitomises the whole vibe of the 1980s... Has so many fun memories from nights out too, and it's haunted me at times:
