Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I'm glad your friend is still alive and well today, and that you were able to calm her down long enough for the paramedics to get to her..... sometimes it seems like there is no solution to problems, but death is the only thing we cannot solve.
My friend Victor wasn't that lucky, and ended up dying at 17. If reincarnation is real I hope he came back to a better family

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
Such wise and kind words Thank you!!
I just hope I was able to make a difference that night. She went through a troubled few years but she seems much happier now.
Really sorry to hear about Victor. Only the good die young. From what you've said here and what I sense too, it sounds like he must've had a horrific experience, and I can really empathise with that.
Personally I believe that reincarnation does happen, that we keep coming back, and I also hope his next life is a much happier one.

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This song has been one of my favourite Bon Jovi songs ever since I first heard the New Jersey album in full, I love its sentiment as well as the lyrics themselves.
Lately it's haunted me a lot, most recently coming up in my YouTube recommendations earlier today, which is a good reason to post it here:
(Bon Jovi - Born To Be My Baby)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This one has always resonated with me ever since it first came out, not just because I'm a big fan of Green Day and I love the song's overall sound, but because the lyrics have always seemed to have a number of personal messages for me, on different levels too.
Also, in recent years, it's haunted me by consistently coming up in my YouTube recommendations:
(Green Day - Jesus Of Suburbia)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This track just came up on my homepage on YouTube, and it's one I absolutely loved when it got released in the early summer of 2007, for its overall sound as well as its lyrics and the anti-violence message within them:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I was massively drawn to this song when it first came out, because of its overall sound, rhythm, lyrics and energy - I got an advance copy of the album just so I could listen to it.
Over time it's haunted me too, and hearing it earlier tonight reminded me again:
(Coldplay - Viva La Vida)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I haven't actually heard this song for years, but I was a massive fan of it when it first came out, as I found I could zone out really easily while it was playing and lose myself in the tune.
Lately it's been back in my conscious mind again for no particular reason:
(Gramophonedzie - Why Don't You)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I first heard this song when it got played on Radio 1 on a sunny Saturday afternoon in September 2003, and I can remember thinking how contemporary and modern it sounded; in the years since it's steadily grown on me, to the point that it's become one which evokes strong feelings everytime I happen to hear it(especially the final part), as I was reminded when I happened to hear it again last night:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This track has always evoked strong feelings for me; when I heard it a number of times as a kid I thought it perfectly epitomised the sound of the 80s; later I became aware of its true meaning on a deeper level, and it became tinged with a great sadness for me.
I definitely think it belongs here, as I was reminded again on hearing it last night:
(Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This song has a lot of good memories for me from the early summer of 1995, and in the time since then it's consistently haunted me, appearing at random times for no particular reason, the most recent example being earlier tonight. It's one which I've always thought of as a fun feelgood song:

I've always been a huge fan of this song ever since I heard it as a kid and loved its tune and rhythm; as I got older I began to understand the lyrics too, and it acquired a profound resonance for me.
It's one which has always had a special personal meaning, one way or another, and which stirs up strong emotions every time I hear it:
(Phil Collins - You Can't Hurry Love)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I thought this was a quirky novelty song when it first came out, but over time it's steadily grown on me, as well as haunting me at times, and it's acquired a special personal meaning partly due to the memories which have become associated with it:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This song is one I loved when it came out; I actually bought the CD single the week it got released, which was the first time I'd ever bought a single in its first week of release.
It has a lot of memories for me from the late spring and early summer of 1999, which was actually an unusually warm and sunny spring in Scotland, and also the time I was sitting my GCSEs, with all the feelings and emotions which accompanied that too.
It's a song I've always loved the power, energy and vibe of:
(The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job?)

When this song got released in the early summer of 2003 I was massively drawn to it; although I loved the song itself, I was also drawn to more than just its sound, although I wasn't sure why.
16 years later, after various things which happened in my life, I consider this song a personal anthem, and it has a particularly special place in my heart:
(Christina Aguilera - Fighter)

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I loved this song when it got released in the early summer of 2001, and it formed part of the soundtrack of that summer for me; I loved both its chilled out demeanor and its generally rocky sound, and I thought it was a great song for cruising to with the windows down. Over time it's only grown on me.
Lately it's haunted me a bit by repeatedly coming up in my YouTube recommendations:
(Feeder - Seven Days In The Sun)

A song which I loved when it got released in the early summer of 1996, as I thought it portrayed the feelings which I associated with June very accurately, and I've had a soft spot for it ever since:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This track has a lot of memories for me from the spring of 2000(Which was a particularly cold, sunny, fresh, snowy spring when I was working on rebuilding my self-confidence after a difficult winter) and each time I hear it, it brings back a lot of the vibes I was feeling at that time - as hearing it get played earlier tonight reminded me again:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
I have a lot of childhood memories associated with this song from early 1996, when it originally got released; on Friday night, as thunderstorm was possibly at its worst, this song got featured on a documentary I was watching on Channel 5! I thought that was a cool synch:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
This track has been in my consciousness a lot lately, although I haven't actually heard it for years; it has a lot of memories for me from the winter of 1995-96(Specifically November/December 1995) and I also find it pretty emotive, for some reason:

Re: TrueCrazyLion's Playlist
A song which I find particularly touching in a profound way(Its general vibe reminds me of Titanic although I know there's no direct connection), and which made a huge impact on me emotionally when it was originally released in the late spring of 2002; I've been very moved by it ever since:
