Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
The problem is that AZ is not releasing the Phase III clinical trials full reports (or at least not to the public).
The last peer reviewed report on the AZ vaccine confirms a 70% efficacy (62% on those with 2 doses and 90% on those with an accidental lower dose). Which makes the AZ less effective for mass vaccination than the Pfizer.

This news from Norway hasn't helped build confidence here for the elderly awaiting vacination...

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
And yet we haven't seen that in other countries (millions have been vaccinated around the world).

Yes, exactly. Will be interesting to see what they find out has happened. Temperature inconsistency?

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
Norway has now said there is no link between the deaths and the vaccine (I can post the link if you want).
I was coming to post good news: Israel is doing a thorough study on people receiving the vaccine and the data is promising.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
2 great news stories in 1 post there!
In particular the news from Israel is promising, and bodes well for the future; hopefully the vaccines will provide lasting immunity too.
I read about the Norway story just yesterday, and I’m not surprised that there’s no link with the vaccine; if it was harming people that badly we would’ve known about it long before now!
I’ve personally never doubted the vaccines’ safety, so this conclusion is no surprise to me.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
Yep, but the problem was in the UK they did the same with the Pfizer even though it had no scientific backing (yet, they may in the future).

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
So far I personally know lots of people in the Uk who have had the Pfizer or the AZ vaccine. And I know lots of people in Argentina who have had the same plus the Sputnik (Russia) and Sinopharm (China).
I know I am not conducting a clinical trial (lol) but nobody has had a severe reaction to any of the vaccines I've mentioned.
The UK has now approved the Moderna too.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
It's great there are so many options coming available, especially if any probs are seen to arise with any particular one vaccine.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
Yep, they are all different and all good. I still prefer the mRNA vaccines (like Pfizer and Moderna) because it's a new technology that can be used to protect us from other diseases, for example (this is great news):

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
Very interesting article!
I agree, I prefer the mRNA vaccines too, for the same reasons(If I’d had the choice, I would’ve chosen the Pfizer one to be vaccinated with). I think they’re a very exciting development, and a game-changer in our fight against disease.

Re: Covid-19 Vaccine updates
So now, with the addition of Len, we know people who have had: Pfizer, Astrazeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm and Sputnik. I guess this gives us a good idea on the safety of all the vaccines on the market right now (those that have been approved internationally).
